February 14

Today we split the workload into multiple sections.  The video has six different components and there are about 5 people handling each component.  After we got things settled, we broke into our small groups to talk about how we could portray the section we were given.  We got a lot of great ideas down on paper and before we knew it, it was time to go.

This project is really a fantastic idea.  It gives us, as students, a chance to voice our opinion.  The adults trying to fix education don’t always ask what we think, but our opinion is just as important as all the rest.  Afterall, are we not the ones experiencing the problems of education today? We are the ones who understand the problem, but we are not being asked our opinion.  Since they don’t want to come to us, we are going to them!

  1. That’s exactly what makes me so happy and motivates me to write a comment thanking each of you for creating this video: that you speak truth to power. Look up the phrase ‘speaking truth to power’ on wikipedia, and you’ll see that creating a video by children about what is wrong with the way children are education, you have given voice to your own needs. You spoke truth to power and published it so that it was widely broadcast in cyberspace. I am glad a link hit me!

Thank you so very much for saying what is so, in your opinion. Our country was founded on people who spoke their mind when they disagreed with systems of government and religion. By creating this video with this topic your class is keeping the patriotic tradition alive and contributing to the improvement of the educational system in our country.

    Thank you.
