January 27

The crazy thing about this project is that it’s not something our teacher printed off the internet and passed out to us. It’s not your average assignment, which makes sense, because we are not your average students.

I think everyone’s excited to spread a message of change. As a class, we decided yesterday that education is the most relevant and prominent thing for us to want reform in, and I’m more excited for this that any other project I’ve done. Hopefully the final video will turn out the way we envision it.

  1. Have you all noticed that when we design your own project, we ‘own’ it and it becomes ‘ours’ as you so aptly describe? Thanks for explaining this, because when any student decides to do something that isn’t provided by a ‘teacher printing it off the internet and passing it out’ that student is making a commitment to learn.

It’s just the way it works. It’s a crazy thing but we’re group learners as your video so nicely communicates. I’m so glad you pointed out this fact: it’s not the average assignment and you’re not average students, but both should be the case. Creating a video should be an average assignment, as should creating a message to distribute worldwide. Why not? What else should communications entail if not every ability to communicate?

But I know I’m preaching to the converted here. Thanks so much for your individual contributions to the group effort. I can’t tell you how meaningful it is to me to see everything I have ever believed in demonstrated in a single video.

Thank you all for making such an exquisite example of educational excellence.
